5 Things Humans Can Explain...But What About the Unexplainable?

The law of "cause and effect" is in constant activation. This rule is at the core of every event we witness.

We can explain the cause of:

• various weather patterns
• the common cold
• cracks in the sidewalk
• civil demonstrations
• some widespread diseases

Some psychiatrists attempt to rationalize certain behavior patterns using different methods during clinical analysis. Reports, essays, and articles on 'why people become serial killers' or 'what makes a child abuser' contain findings, opinions, and suppositions written by psychologists trying to explain this part of human behavior.


Naturally, we wanna know "what makes an idiot and idiot?" It helps to know how the dictionary defines the term idiot.

Merriam-Webster lists the term 'idiot' this way:

General definition: A very stupid or foolish person

Usually offensive explanation; a person affected with extreme mental retardation 

We can say, without malice, that victims of birth defects responsible for mental retardation are not the focus of this topic and are excluded. No. We are talking about people who choose to be stupid, who make an effort to behave foolishly.

Idiots are found in every corner of society. He or she can be:t

• the person next door
• the Sunday school teacher
• your best friend
• your brother or sister
• the customer service rep
• the nurse on your ward

There are more examples, but these few illustrations give us an idea of the state of 'being an idiot' and how common it is.

Is there a cause?  Is being an idiot the "effect" of an isolated something?

Whatever the answer, we can all agree that there are way too many idiots in the world for there not to be a common denominator.

Perhaps the answer is more simple than we realize; or maybe there's a genetic influence; or maybe a person can become an idiot as a medication side effect. Who knows?

What we DO know is idiots exist; and providing the condition isn't a birth defect, the sooner we know what makes an idiot and idiot, we can decide NOT to be one.
